From an early age, La'Kea Stokes has been passionate about her music. She started singing in church at the age of 6 and has since been the background singer of choice for some of the biggest names in the industry. Having worked for 10 years with Tamela Mann, La'Kea has lent her vocals to records for various artists including Kirk Franklin, Ella Mae, and Tamela Mann. Raised in a strict COGIC household, La'Kea has been able to combine her love of R&B and Jesus as she strives to make her mark in the music world. Her third single peaked at #36 on the Billboard Indicator Chart and she is a Grammy accredited background vocalist. In addition to singer La'Kea has added acting to her resume. Having starred in pStage plays along side TV and film stars such as Clifton Powell, Miquel Nunez, Tony Grant and more, La'Kea received several award Nominations for her roles.
In 2023 La'Kea signed a management deal and joined the Sunni Gyrl Inc. Family, Managed by the Hip Hop Icon MC Lyte. With her upcoming EP titled 'Diary of a Church Girl. La'Kea is set to bring something refreshing and exciting to the music space. Some of the industry's most notable producers worked on the EP, which features song topics that include struggles in life as christians, to the traditional truth of how good God is. The is sure to be something that everyone can enjoy.
